Kara Pardue was raised in Clarkston, Washington,
and graduated from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho, in December 1999. She
received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an accounting
emphasis. Kara gained five years of experience in the accounting department of a local
pharmacy in Clarkston and also worked for over a year as the office manager of an
electrical contractor before coming to Central Oregon in January, 2001.
The decision to come to Bend was influenced by the recreational opportunities here as
well as the sense of community present in a town this size. Kara enjoys skiing and
snowmobiling in the winter, backpacking, fishing and gardening in the summer, and antique
shopping all year round.
It was important to Kara to begin her career in public accounting with a firm that
would provide a broad range of experiences and opportunities. As a staff accountant with
Harrigan Price Fronk & Co. LLP, she is putting her education to work, preparing
individual and business tax returns, assisting on audit engagements and learning about
businesses in a wide variety of industries. Kara passed the CPA exam in May, 2001
and became certified in 2003.
She married Eric Pardue in June, 2002.
In late 2004, Kara began telecommuting for HPF from her new home in
Grangeville, Idaho.
